Tara Carr-Lemke is working as the staff mentor for the Race, Migration, & Belonging cohort. Tara joined the Program for Community-Engaged Scholarship (ProCES) as the Associate Director in Summer 2021. Tara comes from La Salle University, where she directed the service-learning program and a co-curricular, interdisciplinary program focused on the discussion of contemporary issues. She also taught in the Leadership and Global Understanding minor. Tara has worked as a researcher, educator, and advocate in a variety of human rights organizations in the United States and Latin America. She brings extensive experience conducting and supporting community-engaged teaching and learning. Her research centers on migration, sanctuary policy, immigrant incorporation and entrepreneurship, and community-engaged teaching. She holds a BA in English Literature from the George Washington University and an MA in International Relations from the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. She is expected to receive a PhD in community development/public affairs from Rutgers-Camden in May of 2022.
